“Welcome to the Heart and Lung Health Public Forum, or, in other words, the McArthur/Yong family reunion!” joked morning session host, Aaron McArthur. With Aaron as host, his wife Elaine as the first speaker of the day, and a clan of McArthur/Yongs there to show their support, the forum was a unique and safe environment for Elaine to speak to the emotional topic of raising a baby post-transplant.
As the first pediatric heart transplant recipient in BC, baby Addison’s story is one that simultaniously inspires and reflects the need for organ donation.
