This lecture will be given by Dr. Jim Hogg who has provided global leadership in our understanding of the pathogenesis of COPD. Dr. Peter Pare will deliver the Centre for Lung Health Plenary lecture "Genetic Testing for Respiratory Disease. Are We There Yet?"
There is no registration fee for students for the Centre for Lung Health Research and Policy Day event.

Air Pollution Affects Heart Health: Learn How
A FREE Information Panel and Discussion Presented by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon and the UBC Centre for Health and Environment Research

Dr. Stephan van Eeden, Providence Heart + Lung Institute, who first identified the biological mechanism linking air pollution and heart health.
Dr. Ryan Allen, SFU Faculty of Health Sciences, who has worked on the landmark MESA-Air project, a landmark study looking at the cardiovascular effects of air pollution in a population of 7000 people in six major US metropolitan areas.
Dr. Chris Carlsten, VCH Lung Centre, a physician and researcher who has studied the effect of traffic exhaust on cardiovascular function

7th International Conference on Urban Health

The 7th International Conference on Urban Health (ICUH-2008) will be held at the Westin Bayshore in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia.
